This unique bowl is from the inland Chinese province of ShanXi where the largest collection of historic buildings exists. It is from this mountainous region that this bowl was sourced. The black-hued, handcrafted clay jars were used abundantly in daily life to store flour, rice or eggs. Today, these Cunmin Bowls are decorative artifacts of a centuries-old culture. Style, condition and shape may vary.
